Editorial: Studies in Communication Sciences: Articulating the diversity of a discipline

Abstract


Studies in Communication Sciences (SComS) is jointly edited by the SACM and the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the USI since 2007. Initially self-published, then moving to Elsevier, SComS has increased its audiences. The number of downloaded articles has increased from 4800 in 2013 to 129000 in 2014 to 17700 in 2015. Funded by the Swiss Association of Communication and Media Research (SACM), the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Communication Sciences at the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), SComS publishes articles in four languages on the full breadth of topics central to communication and media studies.
