Issue 23/3 published
Dear Colleagues, Authors, and Readers,
The third issue of SComS in 2023 is published now and it is dedicated to the Thematic Section on “Old media persistence. Past continuities in the brand-new digital world” with six original contributions. The General Section is composed of two studies investigating into parasocial relationships with morally ambiguous media characters on the one hand and the COVID-19 discourse in politicians’ speeches in Iran on the other hand. Additionally, the issue contains a dissertation summary, a fact sheet on DOCA as well as two book reviews.
The majority of those articles was already published in our Online First Section. If you would like to be regularly informed about new publications in SComS, we invite you to follow us on X.
We would like to thank the guest editors, Gabriele Balbi, Berber Hagedoorn, Nazan Haydari, Valérie Schafer, and Christian Schwarzenegger, and all authors for their contributions to this issue as well as the reviewers who provided invaluable feedback. A further big thank-you goes to our two partners, the open access team from the University Library Zurich (UB), especially Margit Dellatorre and Martin Brändle, as well as Christine Hirzel and Peter Rusterholz from Seismo Press. We are also very grateful for the support of the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW).
We hope that you will enjoy reading this issue.
