The Media amidst the Enterprises, the Public and the State. New Challenges for Research

Abstract


To study the media field today is urgent to adopt a multi-focal approach capable of combining economic, sociological and political insights. The ambitious objective, besides the constant updating of research in each of the fields mentioned above, is to integrate the specific results into a coherent and unitary vision, for better knowledge of the relationships between the media industry, society, the State and the laws which govern them. Research on this level is able to provide the knowledge necessary for identifying emerging problems, orienting the interventions of the State and of international organisms in favour of pre-eminent collective interests, and to check the validity of the instruments adopted and the results obtained each time.
